Bios Keynote Speakers > Bio Tim JacksonTim Jackson is Professor of Sustainable Development at the University of Surrey and Director of the Sustainable Lifestyles Research Group – a multi-disciplinary research group funded by the UK government, which explores the complex links between people’s lifestyles, societal values and sustainability. From 2004 to 2011 Tim was Economics Commissioner on the UK Sustainable Development Commission, where his work culminated in the publication of the controversial book Prosperity without Growth – economics for a finite planet (Earthscan 2009). In 2013 he was awarded a three year Professorial Fellowship to study Prosperity and Sustainability in the Green Economy (PASSAGE). In addition to his academic work, Tim is an award-winning dramatist with numerous radio writing credits for the BBC. |
